 If you have had any trouble programming with Version 1, please download this latest version of the software. It has fixed the problem on my computer and others.

      The Alpha 10 “Max” Can also be programmed for the standard set of Export channels just by a button push on the outside of the radio. That will eliminate the 10M band though and require reprogramming via CD and cable to get it back.  Programming via Computer allows more flexibility by offering the option to change Operating Frequencies and Channel Spacing. Of course, all other programmable settings can also be set via the software. The USB Cable plugs into a small Programming Jack inside the Radio. The Software is Windows Based and comes with Drivers to support the cable.

NOTE: The OLD instructions with the Alpha 10 Max have a Warning about using other Microphones on the radio. They caution the user about +5VDC on Pin 4 of the Mic Socket. Although this is true, the AM-1000 has a built in dropping resistor that prevents any damage to the unit. Connecting a Microphone with Standard Cobra Wiring WILL NOT Damage the Radio! (No Modification to Pin 4 is Necessary)
