Completely re-designed internally, the RCI-2980WX
rack-mount style unit features a new 6 digit red LED readout,
exceptional sound quality and large, easy-to-use controls. It
offers AM-CW-FM-SSB modes of operation, variable power, superior
noise filtering and built-in heavy duty AC power supply.
The RCI-2980WX has a full complement of front panel extra
features, including large dual panel meters that display
received signal strength, transmitter power output and antenna
SWR. You will also find the clarifier has been expanded to
include a separate coarse and fine tuning for above and below
the selected frequency that provides the ability to precisely
select the clearest signal for improved reception under
difficult conditions.
The RCI-2980WX delivers 25 watts PEP output power. The versatile
and economical radio also features a rear panel frequency meter
output for measuring transmit operating frequency.
The RCI-2980WX now offers the ability to receive signals from
your local NOAA Weather Channels insuring that you will have the
coverage for your area. The unit will scan all 7 channels and
lock in on the strongest signal. Also included is a NOAA
Emergency Alert Tone to warn of impending severe weather
warnings and conditions.The weather
receiver on this radio is experimental. It is not warranted to
work with your setup. There are many situations where it
gets no signal. The better your base antenna is, the worse
it conducts a VHF signal and chances of no WX reception is high.
We do not guarantee the WX receiver in any way.

Inner Box with Foam inserts
inner box wrapped in layers of
bubble wrap (2" thick)
placed inside a larger Outer Box. (25 x 25 x 20), this
provides for shock protection that foam inserts alone do not have.

Ranger radios sometimes have a small
scratch or ding that the factory covers with black touch up.
We cannot effect this and do not guarantee your radio to be
cosmetically perfect. Bells CB will make no marks or
scratches on your radio ourselves. Ranger might though and
I cannot control it.
The Weather receiver in this radio works
for some folks and NOT for others. It seams the better
your coax the less chance of good reception. The weather
receiver receives no signals in my radio shop. I cannot
guarantee the operation of the WX receiver in yours.
