Ranger radios sometimes have a small scratch or ding that the factory covers with black touch up.  We cannot effect this and do not guarantee your radio to be cosmetically perfect.  Bells CB will make no marks or scratches on your radio ourselves.  Ranger might though and I cannot control it.

The item most overlooked when ordering a custom radio is the microphone.  Your new radio will NOT sound great with a stock mic on it even if you have it tuned.  If your CB is more than a tool for work, you NEED to upgrade your microphone.
My personal favorites are the
Astatic 636L and RD104E.

SO-239As many of you may know;  Ranger, Galaxy and General radios have all had some poor tolerance coax connectors this last year (SO-239 on the back of the radio) . You have to wiggle the coax just right to get a good grab on the threads of the connector. They are too far “out of tolerance” and we can no longer accept it.       So we have started changing the coax connectors ourselves to a much higher quality SO-239 that will fit your coax nice and tight.  This has affected our selling price ($10) but we think you will agree that it is worth it.

We highly recommend one of these microphones wired 6-Pin because the stock mic sounds like a dixie cup.

Install High Pass Filter Switch
(wired to tone control location inside the radio to cut the high frequency (hiss) sound to a lower tone. Much easier to listen to, I wouldn't own a Ranger without this mod.)

Switch Location

Install an EXTERNAL amplifier keying port. or PTT OUT.  We use an RCA jack in the back for a TX output PORT to your external device. Every time you key it provides a connection between the +/- of the RCA connector.
      1) Output RCA completely isolated  from the radio. +/- of RCA connects to a relay that isolates it from the radios circuits.
      2) Optional BYPASS switch in case your external device does not have one. (turns port off (stays open))
      3) Works all the time in high or low power modes..
      4) Heavy duty relay can handle any keying circuit voltage, even the SB-220's - 120VDC circuit.

Add a "Slider" option Modified the Clarifier for ability to control frequency on TX as well as RX, requires frequency realignment (This mod is available to some who want it, but I don't necessarily recommend it) $25
Install a CP-1 Top Gun Audio Compressor. (on - all the time) This amplifies your lower level audio on transmit.
NOTE: It becomes difficult to use the Talkback even at low volume with this mod.
$25

Install a Record/Playback Module 30 seconds (wired inside the radio with  two pushbuttons on the side to record 30 seconds and to play it back) $77
 Install Talkback w/ a switch
(wired inside the radio so that when you talk you can hear yourself. If you chose an Echo or a Recorder mod, I highly suggest this as well)
